Herpes symptoms

herpesAt first you will feel itching, tingling, heat and pain around the lips or the nose. In the following 48 hours cold sores (fever blisters) will develop, which will dry and heal with or without specific treatment in 11-12 days.

Before developing cold sores, you will feel some early herpes symptoms:

After the first occurrence of herpes heals there are two options: first, the body imunises itself against the virus (usually herpes simplex type I) and the second possibility is that the virus remains in the body waiting for a new opportunity to reactivate such as:

  • physical exercise,
  • a cold,
  • successive exposure to the sun

Food Tips

Lysine and Arginine are essential amino acids. The human body can not produce essential amino acids which must therefore be supplemented through diet.

Lysine supplements and diets high in lysine and low in arginine have been used successfully in treating herpes simplex infection. It appears that increasing the availability of lysine inhibits the utilization of arginine and slows virus replication.

Foods that contain lysine: apple, milk, potato, yeast, compresses with apple juice and olive oil in equal parts.

Give up foods containing arginine like chocolate, peas, nuts, beer.

Take vitamin B or eat more liver, greens and cheese, 20-30 g / 0.7 – 1 oz wheat bran.

Beware of wind and sun. Do not smoke.

Zinc is also essential for the immune system.

There is sometimes confusion between herpes and impetigo.

It is somewhat understandable given that they share certain things - they are both contagious and cause physical, psychological and aesthetic problems.

Impetigo is a skin infection caused by bacteria, and herpes is caused by a virus. Viruses can not be fought with antibiotics like bacterial infections.

The most effective remedy against viruses is our own immune system.
