White Vaginal Discharge - Leucorrhea

Leucorrhea (US) or Leucorrhoea (Commonwealth) or misspelled Leuchorea (Leukorrhea: leukos = white, rheia = leakage) is a white vaginal discharge.

It can be physiological (appears at puberty) or pathological. Pathological Leucorrhea has the following characteristics: large quantity, it lasts a long time, it is colored (yellow, green, pink), fragrant, it irritates mucous membranes and stains the underwear.

It is often accompanied by crabs, burning and pain during sexual relations.

Pathological Leucorrhea may appear after a candidoze, trichomonas, bacterial vaginosis, allergic reactions to tampons, vaginal lubricants or various dermato-cosmetic products.

In such situations you should go to a specialized medical examination, because the lack of appropriate treatment can cause serious complications (if they are baddly cared about, they may be responsible for sterility and predispose to cervix cancer).

Leucorrhea is sensitive to treatment, but it recurs frequently.

Hygienic measures:

  • suspend sexual contact until medical examination, including laboratory examination;
  • local rigorous hygiene, wearing clean lingerie;
  • avoid high physical effort, bicycle riding, standing for very long.

Diet Therapy:
Food as medicine: parsley, parsnip, carrots, tomatoes, strawberry, mulberry fruit, strawberry, black bread, wheat bran, dairy.

Phytotherapy:
The following herb recipes are recommended:

External use - vaginal douches
1. vaginal douche with:

  • decoction of yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – a handful of shredded plants per 1 liter / 34 oz of water;
  • decoction of oak bark (80 g / 2.8 oz per 1 liter / 34 oz of water);
  • decoction of lavender (40 g / 1.4 oz per 1 liter / 34 oz of water);
  • decoction of walnut leaves (40 g / 1.4 oz per 1 liter / 34 oz of water, boil 20 minutes)

Place these decoctions at body temperature in the vagina without pressure.

2. Another infuxion mix, prepared as above is obtained from:

  • 3 tablespoons of walnut leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of ivy leaves
  • 3 tablespoons of White Deadnettle
  • 3 tablespoons of yarrow
  • 2 tablespoons chamomile

3. Another infuxion mix:

  • 25 g / 0.9 oz of chamomile flowers
  • 40 g / 1.4 oz of yarrow (flowers, leaves)
  • 30 g / 1 oz of sage (flowers, leaves)
  • 30 g / 1 oz of White Deadnettle
  • 30 g / 1 oz of Lady's Mantle

Soak a teaspoon of this herb mixture in boiled water. Leave it for five minutes, strain and used lukewarm for vaginal douches once a day.

4. Another infuxion mix:

  • 30 g / 1 oz chamomile flowers (Flores Chamomillae) or yarrow flowers (Flores Millefolii)
  • 30 g / 1 oz of marigold flowers (Flores Calendulae)
  • 20 g / 0.7 oz of jasmine flowers (Flores Philadelphii)
  • 10 g / 0.4 oz of sage leaves (Folium Salviae)
  • 10 g / 0.4 oz of White Deadnettle (Flores Lamii albi):
Local lavages with fresh infusion made with 30 g / 1 oz of herbal mixture per 1 liter / 34 oz of water.

5. Vaginal douches, 3 times per week, in the evening, with an infusion of Lady's Mantle and walnut leaves in equal parts (150 g / 5.3 oz in 3 liters / 101 oz of water).

If the white vaginal discharge is accompanied by vaginal mycosis (Candida), replace the above mixture with the following preparation: in 3 liters / 101 oz of wormwood tea (150 g / 5.3 oz in 3 l / 101 oz of water) mix 2-3 tablespoons of starch and boil, cover and leave to cool.

Lavages will be made without pressure at 38-39 ° C / 100-102 ° F until the next cycle.

Do a douche at the end of the cycle. Preventive do a vaginal douche after the menstrual period for 6-7 months, because any remaining blood clots can generate various diseases. Do not do multiple douches because they may affect vaginal flora.

If this natural treatment doesn’t give the expected results in a month, it requires a specialty medical examination.

Tea and lavages
1. Mix:

  • 3 tablespoons of Oak bark
  • 2 tablespoons of Field Horsetail
  • 2 tablespoons of Birch leaves
  • 4 tablespoons of Chamomile flowers
  • 2 tablespoons of Ivy leaves

Use 4 tablespoons per 1/2 liter / 17 oz of water and boil. Leave the covered pot for another 5 minutes. Strain and drink one teacup with this tea. Do vaginal douches with the rest.

2. Mix 6 tablespoons of white dead nettle with 6 tablespoons of shepherd’s purse.

Soak three tablespoons of this mixture in 1/2 liter / 17 oz of boiled water. Cover the pot and leave for an hour. Strain and drink instead of water during the day.

Additionally do vaginal douches with tea made from equal parts of yarrow, St John's wort and chamomile, 2 tablespoons per 1/2 liter / 17 oz of boiled water.

3. Marigold flowers (Flores Calendulae)

  • an infusion from a tablespoon of flowers to a cup of water; 2-3 cups a day before meals.
  • local lavages with 10 g / 0.4 oz tincture (prepared from 20 g / 0.8 oz of macerated flowers for 8 days in 100 ml / 3.4 oz of alcohol) per 100 ml / 3.4 oz of boiled and cooled water.
  • local lavages with infusion from 2 tablespoons of flowers in a cup of water.

4. White Deadnettle Flowers (Flores Lamii albi)

  • an infusion from half a teaspoon of flowers in a cup of water; drink 1-2 cups a day.
  • local lavages with infusion prepared from 50 g / 1.76 oz of flowers in 1 liter / 34 oz of water.

Internal use:
1.

  • Decoction of oak leaves (15 g / 0.5 oz per 1 liter / 34 oz of water, boil 5 minutes), one cup in the morning and in the evening;
  • St John's wort infusion (20 g / 0.7 oz per 1 liter / 34 oz of water), one cup in the morning and in the evening;
  • Half a cup of White Deadnettle juice for 10 days per month in the morning and in the evening.

2. Mix 5 tablespoons of the following plants:

  • Field Horsetail,
  • Walnut leaves,
  • Peppermint,
  • Dog Rose leaves,
  • Rosemary leaves.

Soak a tablespoon of this mixture in a cup (250 ml / 8.5 oz) of boiling water. Leave it for ten minutes and strain. Drink a cup after each meal. Keep doing this treatment until the unwanted white vaginal discharge disappears.
